Fjord 40 Open made a name for itself from the start for innovation and design, winning the prestigious “European Powerboat of the Year 2008” award in Düsseldorf among 90 competing boats. The exterior design is the work of Patrick Banfield and Jim Wilshire of Allseas, while the interior was handled by Mark Tucker Design Unlimited.
The German shipyard developed a high-performance, narrow and sleek hull capable of a maximum speed of 44 knots, powered by two Volvo D4-300 IPS diesel engines of 400 hp each. The integration of the revolutionary joystick control system facilitates maneuvering and enables smooth landings in any port. The dashboard windshield, which is sturdy and features large struts, contributes to the unit's safety and design.
